The Green Man.
1997 Barefoot Books.

Luke lives with his parents in a grey flat in a grey world. But one day, his world starts to change. Luke begins to see the face of a strange green person in the oddest places - out shopping in the supermarket, in the bark of the trees, even in his mother's best china! But who is the green man? And is he real? Only Lily, the colourful old woman who works on the nearby allotment, can tell Luke, for only she can see the odd green fellow. She knows just what he is trying to say and what Luke needs to do to bring him to life.

Combing mystery and adventure, this dramatic story introduces children to one of Europe's most ancient gods, for the Green Man represents the forces of the natural world and reminds us of our role as caretakers of that world.
