THE KITTY TITLES!!!

Kitty's Friends!

This is the thirteenth book of stories about Kitty, but in this book she takes a back seat for once and we find out a bit more about her friends William, Rosie, Anita and Tim, and her cousin Melissa.

There is a story about each one of them, and then in the last story Kitty is the heroine once more - because when her friends are feeling a bit low Kitty has a fun idea. As usual! This book is guaranteed to make you feel better.

Kitty's Big Ideas !

'This isn't a book of stories, but the very first book of Kitty's ideas.

It's packed full of things to do, with spaces for you to write your ideas. You'll meet all your favourite characters from the twelve books of Kitty stories and find out lots about them - and about you too. If you buy this book you will never be bored again! And it comes with a free badge too.

I Don't Want To !

Kitty's favourite word is NO !

She doesn't want to clean her teeth or wash or eat her vegetables or - worst of all - play with her cousin Melissa. But saying no gives Kitty more problems than even she bargained for - and somehow she always ended up wanting to say yes !

I Can't Find It !

Kitty was always losing things.

She wasn't careless, but things she put away very, very carefully just - sort of - moved, all by themselves... Then one day, Kitty finds something no one else can find.

This is the hilarious and touching sequel to "I Dont Want To !"

It's Not Fair !

"It's not fair!" is Kitty's plaintive cry. Why is she the shortest in the class? Why can't anyone in her family take a joke? Why can't she go to bed late like the boy next door? Why don't holidays last forever?

When one day Kitty's mother echoes Kitty's cry of "It's just not fair" Kitty thinks up a brilliant idea ...

But You Promised !

Kitty, Bel Mooney's naughty, messy, lovable heroine, returns in a new set of adventures.

This time her cry is, "But you promised !". She discovers that sometimes grown-ups make promises they can't keep. But then, so do children !

Why Not ?

Kitty always used to say she didn't want to do this or that. Then there was a change - she wanted to DO things, but the grown-ups wouldn't let her. Instead of saying !I don't want to!" she found herself asking "Why not?"

But the reply she got was "Because I say so!". But Kitty finds her own way round every obstacle - especially when she goes on holiday and wants to go trick or treating ...

I Know !

Kitty decides as she gets older that she knows things. The trouble is, grown-ups keep treating her like a baby. So Kitty sets out to show just how much she knows - and gets one or two suprises, including a very special Easter !

I'm Scared !

"I'm not scared of anything, not me !" "Yes you are," said Daniel "No i'm not," said Kitty. "Go out into the garden then." Kitty looked outside. It was dark...

But it's not only Kitty who's afraid. When William is frightened of being Joseph in the nativity play, Kitty comes to the rescue and to the rescue again when Anita is bullied. She even helps out when her big brother Daniel is scared ...

I Wish !

William had got a new bike for his birthday, and Kitty wanted one more than anything in the world.

"I wish it was mine - oh, I wish it was mine," she said to herself, over and over again.

Every child has wishes and who better than the outspoken Kitty to give voice to them?

What does Kitty wish for? That her friends bike is hers ... that her brother would go away ... that she was pretty and grown up ... and, above all, that wishes come true!

Why Me ?

Nothing could stop Kitty feeling miserable. So miserable, that when Mum went downstairs to make her some hot Blackcurrant juice,Kitty turned to cuddle Mr Tubs and made hime all wet with her tears, "why me? Why me?" she sobbed.

Kitty learns that things do go wrong for her, her family, and her friends, but that it's at times like these that what really matters is having each other and, for Kitty, still being able to make others laugh.

I'm Bored !

Life isn't much fun when nobody wants to play with you. Mum's always too busy with the baby ... Dad has to do the shopping ... Kitty's friends just want to watch TV ! How will Kitty stop everyone being so boring !

It's Not My Fault !

It's not Kitty's fault when she's late for school and Dad crashes into the gatepost! It's not Kitty's fault that baby Tom crawls into trouble or that she's getting too old to sit on Dad's knee! And it's certainly not Kitty's fault that her boring cousin Melissa can't make friends at school!

But for some reason Kitty feels that it is ...

SO WHAT!

This is the latest book of stories about Kitty and her family and friends.

Do you ever say, 'So What!'? Sometimes Kitty doesn't seem to care about anything. Sometimes she is just pretending she doesn't care. Is she bothered about her homework, her baby brother, or her teddy, Mr Tubs? What do you think?Kitty doesn't like a fuss, but the truth is, she does care about a lot of things, and making her friends happy is just one of them.

HERE'S KITTY FOR YOUNGER READERS !

Bel Mooney at the Bath Literature Festival sign books for children

Sometimes younger brothers and sisters of children who love the Kitty books want to read themselves. But the sentences are too long. So we made two special Kitty books (called BLUE BANANAS) for beginner readers - with speech bubbles and coloured pictures by Margaret Chamberlain, who always draws Kitty.

THIS IS WHAT THE PAGES ARE LIKE.
